Summary of Walk

Led by bird guide Kushagra Dev, a small yet highly engaged group gathered at Karanji Lake for a refreshing bird walk on 8th June. Participants, though few, were enthusiastic and keen to learn—making it an interactive and enriching session. The walk focused on the basics of birdwatching, its importance, and how to identify birds using calls, behavior, and key field marks. It was a welcome break from routine, offering moments of calm and connection with nature. The group recorded 35 species, including the Indian Spot-billed Duck, Indian Peafowl, Greater Coucal, Asian Koel, Eurasian Moorhen, Eurasian Coot, Grey-headed Swamphen, Oriental Darter, Spot-billed Pelican, Shikra, and Brahminy Kite—making it a memorable experience for all.

Summary of Walk

On a fresh Sunday morning, 22 nature enthusiasts joined guide Bhavya Sharma for a bird walk through Kulish Smriti Van, a rich biodiversity park extending from Jhalana Wildlife Park in Jaipur. Trekking through forest patches, rocky boulders, and wetland corners, the group recorded an impressive 41 bird species. Highlights included 12 Indian Peafowls, Indian Golden Oriole, Common Hawk-Cuckoo, White-browed Fantail, and the vibrant Black-rumped Flameback. Along the trail, participants deepened their skills in bird identification and learned about the importance of conserving bird habitats in urban wild spaces.
